Hello All! Well, from the sound of it Fernando had a great time in Wichita at the Mid-American All Indian Center Pow-wow over the weekend. Not only did he demonstrate painting, but it was the first show where we showcased our new jewelry line. The thing I love the most about our jewelry is that it is a husband and wife collaboration. Fernando and I have worked together since we first met – but this is the first time that any of the work is a collaboration. I love being a part of this new endeavor with Fernando, and since I am a member of the Chickasaw Nation, the work can still be marketed as Native American made (sort of a Southeast meets Southwest joint venture!!) In addition our daughter also makes some of the jewelry that we sell, so it is truly a family business now!

As a matter of fact Fernando and I were talking about it just today, and we came up with one of our new taglines to describe our business from the art and jewelry to our framing and packaging services - “We have a family business that takes care of artists and customers with a full array of goods and services.” And you – Wichita – were the first to see that!

Now unfortuneately, the kids and I weren’t able to make the Wichita show – which is sad not only because we miss Fernando when he’s away – but according to Fernando, Wichita is very family friendly! So we can’t wait to visit as a family. Most of the time we travel together as a family which is great – we actually love spending time together! But just so you don’t feel too sorry for me and the kids – I thought I’d let you know that we had some fun ourselves – here’s Miguel eating ravoli for the first time!

(I already told you how the head came to be!)
